About Your Country, Not Gaza

Imagine
The boom of rockets roaming the sky
Finding targets, freely at all times
Never stopping, for years
Hitting schools
Damaging hospitals
Demolishing buildings
The road in front of your house is just a gaping hole
No food and water
Until all facilities become rubble.

Even, the fragments
Threaten the life of your child, five years old
Injured, unconscious
Don't know where to go for help
Maybe, in the next few minutes, buried
And you can't scream
Just keep quiet
Because you have thought
And told the world
Why should we care about them
Those who are suffering now.

This is not about ideology
In fact, it's not about right or wrong
But, about love, and care
Towards millions of people
Who died because of bullets
Who died in vain without medical treatment.

Colonization is far from our lives
Then, what should be done
Indeed, it is not our problem
Please think like that
But, the next four or five years
Can be ours.

A speech
Telling a bird
Continuously passing by the sea
Carrying drops of water in its small beak
To extinguish the burning forest
Then, the snake laughed and said
Snake: You are not able to extinguish the fire
Bird: Yes, I know
Snake: Then why do you do it non-stop
Bird: I do my part.

Indeed, the bird cannot extinguish the fire
However, refusing to do nothing
Too small for us, to make a difference
Strength is not about scale
But about the choice to refuse to be silent
And when it matters most.
