This is an interesting poem of personal perception of life, with philosophical feelings of serenity and normalcy, but turning it into a theme of "colonization" makes the poem stylistically heavy. The stanza of 7 lines uses 3 alterations of this political term, and the next stanza of 3 lines repeats this term in every line. Unfortunately, the poem loses its rhythm.

This really resonates. There’s something honest and quiet about the way you describe normal in the middle of everything that feels off.

What made you start noticing those small moments so clearly?

Thank you for liking this poem. I really appreciate your comments and questions. Indeed, the global situation and developments in the world always inspire all writers to explain and understand every moment. Even every movement and shift in human moral values is the effect of policies determined by humans themselves, and will influence each individual's perception of what is happening. Like the rapid flow of information flowing across the globe, it can elicit a response, whether it's silence or a shout. Likewise, your attention to this poem and liking it is part of understanding the potential for inspiration, and you are actually aware of a global situation and a small moment.

The poem feels like someone trying to cradle a small, fragile space of peace inside themselves while everything around them keeps shouting, twisting rules, and calling chaos “order.” What moves me most is how serenity becomes something deeply human not an escape, but a quiet strength that survives even when the world feels hollow or cruel. The idea of “normal” turns into a gentle truth: the ability to stay awake to what is happening without letting it break the soul. The small images a dry leaf falling, a flower withering before it blooms, the slow shift between day and night feel like the last places where the heart can breathe. The reflections on colonialism carry a tired honesty, the voice of someone who refuses to let oppression define their purpose. There is a soft defiance in rejecting systems that disguise domination as order. Serenity becomes an act of resistance, a way of refusing to be shaped by cruelty. And the final gesture offering that serenity to others feels like a hand extended in the dark, a belief that peace can still be shared even when the world forgets how to be gentle.

Such beautiful words, carrying such wisdom, jybyky.

May your words always spread serenity and peace, as they do, may we always keep access to — and be able to feel — the serenity in our hearts and souls, no matter what goes on in our insane world.

Have a wonderful day.
